Happy Independence Day!

Just checking in.  I’m still not losing, but I know that I need to work on my food choices.  My stomach doesn’t reject anything (sometimes I wish it would!) and while I still have the restriction, I need to watch what I put in there!  Went to the nutritionist recently and she recommended Protein, high fat and low carb.  I’m putting that plan into action and hope to lose that last 10-15 pounds.

Never did I think I would post a photo of me in a bathing suit, but took this yesterday when I went to hang out by the pool with my sister-in-law.  I thought about photoshopping my legs and arms in the full body shot, but decided not to.  This is me.  Hot model? NO! But am sort of okay with myself.  I don’t like the “bat wings” on my arms or the weirdness going on with the top of my legs but I’m working on that too.  I have been able to build my butt back up though….it had totally gone flat but through walking and my cross trainer I’ve found it again!🙂

Happy Independence day to you all!

Checking in!

Haven’t checked in for a while, so just wanted to send a “report”.  I’ve not lost any more, in fact I’ve been wrestling with 5 pounds (up and down) for the past few months.  “Sleevie Ray Vaughan” lets me eat anything I want and I have to remember that in order to lose these last 10-15 pounds, I can’t eat anything I want.  TOO many carbs of late.  I need to get back to basics and remember to fill up on protein first.  I’ve done better with water thanks to my Yeti tumbler but I don’t always get it all in every day.  That has to improve too!

I saw Dr. Taylor on Monday and all of my numbers are great….I have remembered to take all of my vitamins.  My A1C is still a little higher than I’d like it to be.  My diabetes meds have been reduced but eating too many carbs is not helping in that department!  I have an appointment with the dietician this morning and I’m going to get her to spell things out for me.  How many calories should I be getting in each day….max of carbs etc…  Back to basics!  My main goal is not necessarily a number on a scale but do get down to a normal BMI.  I’m SO close!  I feel great and love that, but I want to get these last 10-15 pounds off!

I have to remember how far I’ve come and press on!

Weekly weight update: (highest weight ever was 253)

Moving to more spaced out Weigh-Ins

Since I’m still trying to lose, but it’s getting slower and slower I’m moving to monthly or every 2 month weigh in reports.  I’ll still post when I have something to share.  Today is my 52nd birthday and I’m so happy to be 54 pounds lighter this year!  Still working on the water….but doing much better.  Most days I get it all in but not every day.  Exercise has increased so we’ll see how that affects things.  I’m just happy to be feeling so much better and so much lighter!

Weekly Weigh In

No change in the scale again, but I’m not discouraged. I’m still having to “make” myself drink water so I don’t forget.  My goal for the upcoming week is to get it ALL in EVERY day!!

Weekly Weigh In

Still holding onto that Mardi Gras poundage!  No change in the scale but I think I may be ready for a smaller size jeans soon. 🙂

These last 10-15 pounds are going to be a bear….but I’m up for the challenge!  I’m not putting a time limit on myself but just trying to make better choices day by day.  More exercise, more water and less junk in the mouth!  The water has improved so much since I got my Yeti tumbler but I’m still not quite getting it all in on a daily basis.  Some days are better than others.  So here’s to getting it all in today….one day at a time!

Weekly Weigh in

The decadence of Party Gras weekend is over and I managed to hold steady!  I didn’t eat “well” at all.  Ate way too much junk, but I guess all the activity and the fact that I can’t eat much helped me out.  But I’m looking forward to getting back to healthier eating.

Holding steady and if I can do that through Party Gras weekend, I’ll be happy.  Then it’s back to work!!

Looking forward to a fun weekend with friends and family and unfortunately lots of food.  Thankfully I can only hold so much!  Just have to not eat TOO many bad things!🙂

Holding steady this morning.  Size 10 jeans getting a little looser….that sure feels good!  I’ve been doing much better on my water now that I’ve got my Yeti tumblers….I got one for home and work now and that made a big difference this past weekend, when I usually slack off on water.  Been doing my Walk Away the Pounds DVDs regularly this past week too…alternating between different workouts.  It feels good!

1 year Surgiversary

One year ago today I had my sleeve gastrectomy.  Hard to believe it’s been a whole year but I’m so proud of how far I’ve come.  There were some difficult times but for the most part I was lucky and had no complications from the surgery….my recovery has gone smoothly.  The most difficult things for me have been “sipping” water throughout the day, not drinking water while eating, and remembering all the vitamins.  You have to space out your water and vitamins so your smaller stomach can absorb them.  If I were to take all 3 multi-vitamins in one sitting I would only get the benefits of 1 of them.  That’s about all my stomach could absorb at once.  I’m still working on these things and am doing much better.  My Yeti tumbler has been a big help.  Only problem with that was I brought it home for the long weekend and then forgot to bring it to work yesterday.  I may have to get one for each place!🙂

The scale finally moved again this week….just a pound but that’s cool!  These last 10-15 pounds (haven’t quite decided my goal yet….my main goal is to get to a “normal” BMI) will be harder and I’m a slow loser as it is.  But I couldn’t have done this without the surgery and my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner.

I started out wearing 22/24 and 2XL and am now wearing size 10 in pants and M or L in shirts.

Weekly Weigh In

I totally forgot that yesterday was Tuesday….forgot to weigh in and forgot to keep the pups in for the yard guy.  Oops! :)  Weight is still the same but I’m fitting better into clothes so I know I’m losing inches.  Just got my Yeti tumbler in the mail yesterday (and promptly left it on the kitchen counter!) so that’s a good thing.  Doing a Walk Away the Pounds video every other day and my recumbent cross trainer or walking on the other days.  So am feeling good!  Almost a year out from my surgery date (1/20/15) so hoping for a little loss this week coming up!
